I've been told by one, Mr. Nerf, that there are not enough "others" posting to this blog. So here I go.

It's amazing what a new space, new people, and a whole lot of excitement and vision can bring. I'm finally working on stuttering[odys] - a piece that I've been conceptualizing for many, many moons - thanks to the help of fellow artmakers @ the JAG. With Crispian, we've actually turned the concept/software into two pieces - one that elicits stuttering words, and a second which is a body-triggered music sampler. I really hope we finish in time to set it up for the Braai Klub this Saturday; his sounds are infectious...

Some things I didn't foresee:
Mapped out IA (Information Architecture) drawn across the gallery wall - plans for the upcoming CD-ROM
Children complaining that the entertainment system set-up is not yet running the new Matrix game
Some of my students from Wits impressing fellow artmakers, and asking for guidance in the exhibit space
Egg Salad (or in SA speak, Egg Mayonnaise) sandwiches every day
Photographers, filmmakers and other (not personally invited) guests who read about 24.7 - in various news clippings and on varying web sites - and showed up to participate and document.
Noise. Lots of noise coming from the basement of the JAG
The life that breathes in the oft-thought-to-be-scary center of downtown Johannesburg

Art As Usual.
